Finally, somebody with balls (anonymous as they may be) enough to write a truly honest review of some of P-town’s ‘darling’ bands. I have gotten to that point of not even wanting to go out and listen to music, because the reviews are so fucking biased.
Who the fuck are the Honey Clouds? They’re boring at their best. Why do bands like this fill up Space? Are we that collectively numb to what good, unique music and art is? Is it more important to be a herd member than to actually look and listen? Obviously it is. I drink PBR and go to the shows I’m told to go to. I’m cool. Shitty beer, stupid status symbol, get a clue.
The Portland music scene is really the Portland social scene – quality music really has nothing to do with it. Sam Pfiefle? I make it a point to NOT see any band that he’s reviewed. The Bollard used to be better until recently, especially that dripping Honey Clouds review which seems to have no basis in reality.
Anyway, just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work.
